Senior Staff Accountant

Boralex has been providing renewable and affordable energy for over 30 years. The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operatesrenewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage.

Under the supervision of the Manager – Operational Accounting US, the holder of this position will take ownership of the complete accounting cycle tasks for various companies.

⚡ You will play an important role in:

• Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end files according to the group’s procedures, standards, and internal control rules;
• Provide support to the Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
• Participate in the production of the budget for the entities under their charge;
• Ensure the reliability of data by meeting the deadlines set by the group and highlighting discrepancies;
• Collaborate in optimizing methods, tools, and processes;
• Work closely with the team to ensure interventions align with business objectives;
• Collaborate closely with all departments;
• Participate in ad hoc analyses performed by other Boralex teams over the companies under your accounting control;
• Perform all related accounting tasks.

💡 To succeed in this position, you need:

• Hold active CPA license (asset);
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience (public accounting experience is an valuable asset);
• Experience in U.S. GAAP financial statement preparation (including disclosures) and analytical review of reporting produced (essential)
• Knowledge and experience with US GAAP standards (complex topics- essential);
• Experience implementing new accounting standards (an asset);
• Knowledge of IFRS standards (an asset );
• Experience in renewable energy industry (an asset)
• Ability to translate financial results to digestible summaries for stakeholders (essential)
• Experience in business acquisitions (an asset);
• Knowledge of the Office suite (essential);
• Knowledge of SAP and Longview (an asset);
• Demonstrate autonomy, initiative, and the ability to advance complex files;
• A good team spirit with strong analytical skills;
• Rigor, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously;
• Respect for objectives and deadlines.
