Important Warning

We have been informed that a malicious group is fraudulently using our brand identity in scams involving the sale of solar panels or other misleading commercial offers.

  • These activities have no connection with Boralex.
  • Furthermore, we do not engage in any direct commercial activities with individuals in Zambia or neighboring countries.

Please be vigilant—fraudsters are using our logo, name, and even the names of our executives in websites, documents, or communications intended to deceive the public.

Boralex teams will never ask for personal information via chat or social media.

What to do if you suspect fraud? 

Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in malicious acts by scammers fraudulently using our name to target individuals.

  • We’ve compiled some tips on warning signs to help you avoid falling victim to such scams.

Do not provide confidential data

This includes personal or banking information.

Do not respond to unsolicited communications

Especially if you are unsure of the sender’s identity.

Report the incident immediately

For example, to local authorities or relevant platforms (social media, messaging services, etc.).

Report the incident to our cybersecurity team

For example, by sending a screenshot to the email address listed on this page

Examples of methods used by malicious actors

Requests for confidential data (identity, banking details, etc.)

A malicious actor may pose as a company employee or business partner and ask for banking details for upcoming payments

Fake supplier creation

A scammer may pose as a solar panel supplier and offer seemingly attractive deals

Phishing emails

A scammer may send emails requesting sensitive financial information or login credentials. These communications are often unexpected and unsolicited

Use of domain names similar (or not) to boralex.com

A scammer may register similar-looking domains to publish fake content (job offers, commercial offers, etc.)

Impersonation of employee names and photos

To make their scam more credible, some fraudsters may use employee names and photos to make victims believe they are interacting with Boralex

Use of pressure or urgency

A scammer may apply unusual pressure to obtain a quick response or the submission of banking or other confidential data
