Spread over six municipalities, the Vallée de l’Arce wind farm consists of 15 wind turbines, each with a nominal power of 2 MW. The wind turbines are arranged on a vast agricultural plateau along the A5 motorway, forming a curve composed of 5 clusters of 3 wind turbines each, in the east of the Aube department. In 2023, the wind farm was chosen by Boralex to host the filming of the company’s first 360-degree video.

Stockage de l'Arce en France

Between 2013 and 2016, Boralex made the Vallée de l’Arce wind farm available to the VENTEEA project, as this site had the ideal characteristics to test the controllability functionality of the future electric grid management system. The VENTEEA project aimed to study the adaptation of the electricity distribution network to wind power production using tools to adjust voltage plans and to detect and locate potential incidents more quickly. Subsequently, Boralex acquired the storage unit to make it the first operational battery for Boralex in France.
