Témiscouata wind farm 2
at a glance

Initiated and fully developed by Boralex, the Témiscouata 2 wind farm has 22 wind turbines, providing a total capacity of 52 MW. This second Témiscouata wind farms project is adjacent to the first (a community project of 24 MW) on the public lands of the Saint-Elzéar-de-Témiscouata and Saint-Honoré-de-Témiscouata municipalities. The farm was commissioned in November 2015 and has a 20‑year contract with Hydro‑Québec.

Témiscouata II is the result of Boralex’s acquisition, in March 2012, of a power purchase agreement with another sponsor to complete a wind power project with an installed capacity of approximately 52 MW. This project was awarded in 2008 by Hydro-Québec Distribution under its 2005 call for tenders for 2,000 MW of wind power. Further to Hydro-Québec’s approval and a resolution demonstrating the support of the MRC and the Témiscouata municipalities, Boralex undertook to complete the wind farm project in Témiscouata, initially planned for a community in the Montérégie region.
