Site overview
Boralex developed, with Aeolis Wind Power Corporation, the Moose Lake wind farm under BC Hydro’s Standing Offer Program. The wind farm completed an environmental impact assessment under the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations’ (MFLNRO) Development Plan process, and received a General Area Licence of Occupation in September 2014. The wind farm subsequently received an Electricity Purchase Agreement from BC Hydro in December 2015.
In January 2021, Boralex acquired Aeolis' equity parts in the wind farm. The Moose Lake wind farm (15 MW) includes four wind turbine generators, access road, collector line, a substation and interconnects to the BC Hydro grid at the Meikle Terminal Station (MKT). The wind farm is located on Crown land approximately 24 km northwest of Tumbler Ridge, BC, off highway 29.
