Project Overview

The photovoltaic project located on the Suippes military camp originated from a competitive tender launched by the army in 2021, for which Boralex was awarded in June 2022.

The site is located in the northern part of the military camp, within the municipality of Sommepy-Tahure, and is affected by pyrotechnic contamination. The project covers an area of 28.8 hectares:

  • 9.8 ha for the west site;
  • 19 ha for the east site.

Initially, the project was planned to include nearly 58,000 photovoltaic panels for an installed capacity of 41.3 MWp. Following detailed studies, the design was revised. It now plans to install more than 38,000 panels for an installed capacity of 27.5 MWp.
